CATHOLIC CHURCH OF SAN NICOLAS ILOCOS NORTE
Built
in the early 18th century of local stone masonry, the Catholic Church of San
Nicolas was founded by Augustinian missionaries. Like any other churches in the
region, the church has its own share of role in history. Records reveal that it
was occupied by Filipino revolutionists to the Spanish regime in the end of 18th
century; and which was made as headquarters later by American forces during
their times. The Philippine Independent Church has a short hold of the building
in 1900 for 2 years.
